There are some amazing local opportunities currently available for students and young professionals interested in a career related to environmental sciences. Some of these are summer positions (remember, hiring for the summer season starts early–like NOW!) and others are full or part-time beginning in the spring. There are also many internship opportunities. Openings are constantly changing. Check out the Chicago Environmental Network for a great selection of opportunities, including:

  • Youth Conservation Corp Leader (McHenry County Conservation District)
  • Summer Ecology Assistant (Fermilab)
  • Restoration Technician (Pizzo & Associates)
  • Crew Leader (Student Conservation Association)
  • Development and Communications Assistant (Lincoln Park Conservatory)
  • Gypsy Moth Survey Trapper (Slow the Spread Foundation Inc.)
  • Aquatic Plant Maintenance (Chicago Botanic Garden)
  • Ecological Restoration Technician (Seasonal–Chicago Botanic Garden)
  • Lab Sample Collector (Chicago Park District)
  • ….and SO MANY MORE!
