Are you looking for a career in Sustainability? Alternative Energy? Conservation? Environmental Science?

Opportunities are increasing every day for individuals with specialized skills in sustainability. Click HERE for a webinar from September 2012 which projects the outlook for Green Jobs in the Chicago Region. And download a Green Careers handout from Oakton’s Career Center.

Oakton Community College is an active member in the Illinois Green Economy Network (IGEN) and The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), both of which provide a number of resources on green careers and training.  The Bureau of Labor Statistics will give you some basics on the projected market for green jobs. Finally, check out Greenprint: A Plan to Prepare Community College Students for Careers in the Clean Economy for a glimpse at the role institutions like Oakton can play in the future of green careers.
